How to
apply?
Most higher education applications are made through the
Universities and Colleges Admissions Service
(UCAS).
You have to apply online using a system called "ucasapply". Your
school or college will be able to give you more information. Your
Personal Adviser in your local Connexions Centre will also be able
to help you
If you have left school or college you will be able to apply
online as an individual.
Our booklet Moving on at 18 can guide you
through the application step by step.
Money Matters
The costs incurred in continuing into Higher Education need to
be considered in the context of the many benefits there are likely
to be, some in the medium and long term.
As a higher education student you will have two main costs to
meet: tuition fees (what your course costs to attend) and living
costs (costs for your accommodation, food, travel, clothes, study
materials, social and leisure activities). Information about
financial assistance with both of these is available from your
Local Education Authority (LEA) and from the Department for
Education and Skills (DfES).
