HIGHER EDUCATION

	Aimhigher - www.aimhigher.ac.uk “The Aimhigher website provides all the information you need to get started on the road into HE, including links to all the key websites that can help answer your questions. There are also sections on applications, finance, graduating, and student life including a useful uni finder.”

	Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) - www.ucas.com Rosehill, New Barn Lane, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL52 3LZ Tel: 01242 222444 “UCAS is the central organisation that processes applications for full-time undergraduate courses at UK universities and colleges. You can now complete the whole application process online, with sections covering course search, applying and tracking your application’s progress. Students, parents, advisers and HE staff also get their own sections.”

	Prospects - www.prospects.ac.uk CSU, Prospects House, Booth Street East, Manchester, M13 9EP Tel: 0161 277 5200 “Prospects.ac.uk is the essential guide to graduate careers and postgraduate study in the UK.” This is probably the best-known and most widely used under/graduate careers site. It is very large, but covers everything from careers info to job search to postgrad opportunities. The more you explore, the more you find it does!”

	Inside Careers - www.insidecareers.co.uk “Detailed careers information site for soon-to-be and recent graduates. Pick a career from the list to access career advice, job vacancies, work experience, company profiles and recruitment events for that career. The home page also gives links to professional institutes and similar.”

	GIEU - Graduate into employment unit - www.gieu.co.uk “GIEU is changing its services to graduates – gone is the 6 week Graduate Business programme. Instead you get plenty of brilliant case studies, a Facebook link to a graduate jobs database, research papers (including one on work experience and sections aimed at business.”

	The Windmills Programme - www.windmillsprogramme.com “Welcome to the Virtual Career Coach, the website that offers unique help with managing your career. If you're feeling stuck in a rut, confused about where your career - and life - are heading... or need tips or advice on a particular career area, this is the site for you." Great site, especially if you are undecided about whether you are a crotchety camel, a happy hippo, or an oblivious ostrich. Good for building confidence.

	HE Student Support Site - www.dfes.gov.uk/studentsupport “This web site contains information about the help that is available to students in England and Wales who want to go into Higher Education.”

	Directgov - Student Finance - www.directgov.gov.uk/en/EducationAndLearning/UniversityAndHigherEducation/StudentFinance/index.htm “New government information portal on all aspects of financial support whilst studying.”

	FunderFinder- www.funderfinder.org.uk 65 Raglan Road, Leeds, LS2 9DZ Tel: 0113 243 3008 “Charity producing software on sources of grants and other student finance. Here you will find both free and costed software. You also get pages covering great tips on where to look for finance, how to apply etc.”
