Careers Education - Current National Picture
The moment any summary of national developments in careers
education is written it begins to become out of date. Over the last
few years a lot of national guidance and initiatives have been
promoted in relation to careers education and careers work
generally. Interest in careers education reflects the national
education policy agenda and focus (see below).
The easiest way to keep abreast of developments is to link into
good sources of regular information which are both quick to
assimilate and easily accessible. See below:
- Join ACEG (Association for Careers Education and Guidance
(ACEG) ). ACEG is the professional association for teachers and
lecturers with responsibility for the development of careers
education. They produce 5 journals per year and a variety of
practical support materials produced by practitioners for
practitioners. The annual membership fee is £40.00 and represents
excellent value. For further details visit the website at

Make sure you receive copies of our current CEG newsletter.
